Gimpo International Airport Train Transfers

One of the options available for transfers from Gimpo Airport is to take the train. After you have collected your entire luggage from the baggage claim area of your arrival hall and terminal just follow the transportation signs and take the escalators to the airport’s underground station. The platform can be reached from both the Domestic and the International Terminals.

There are three subway lines running between Gimpo International Airport and Seoul city center, and one line running to other areas around Seoul.

Line 5

This is the purple line and it runs from Banghwa to Sangil-dong or Macheon with stops at Gimpo International Airport. Some stops offer connections to other subway lines while others don’t. These stops offer connections for transfer:

Line 9

Line 9 is the brown line and runs from Gaehwa to VHS Medical Hospital with stops at Gimpo International Airport. While some stops have connections with other subway lines, others don’t. These stops have access to other subway lines:

Incheon-Gimpo Airport Railway

The Airport Railway line is the blue line and it runs between Incheon International Airport and Seoul with Gimpo International Airport in between. These stops between Gimpo Airport and Seoul allow changes to other lines:

  • Digital Media City: line 6, Gyeongui-Jungang
  • Hongik University: line 2, Gyeongui-Jungang
  • Gongdeok: line 5, line 6, Gyeongui-Jungang

Gimpogold

Gimpogold is the gold line and it stops at these locations:

  • Yangchon

A one-way ticket between Gimpo Airport and Seoul Station on the All Stops trains, lines 5 and 9, is around 1,500 won plus a deposit of 500 won that is refundable in a refund deposit machine once you have reached your destination. Fares are based on distance.

Travel time between Gimpo International Airport and Seoul city center is around 22 minutes and they run every 10 minutes between the hours of 5.30-01.00.
