Flight Arrivals at Seoul Gimpo Airport

Gimpo International Airport (GMP) in Seoul, South Korea, has two passenger terminals and one cargo terminal. The passenger terminals are divided into one Domestic terminal and one International Terminal.

The Airport Shuttle bus line transports people and their luggage between the two terminals and other areas and buildings at the airport.

Both terminals are divided into 4 floors with the arrivals area located on the first floor.

Domestic Terminal

Once the passengers have collected their luggage in the baggage claim area and exited air-side they will find themselves in the big public arrival area.

This area houses several restaurants and places to eat, currency exchange, tourist information, a post office, shopping, car rental desks, taxi desks, bank services and more.

International Terminal

When arriving at the International Terminal passengers have to clear customs once they have collected their luggage before entering the land-side. There are no restaurants on this floor in the International Terminal, but there is a cafeteria.

Other services available here are currency exchange and bank services, International taxi, casino services and a tourist information desk.

Gimpo Airport Transfers

Rental cars - The rental car desks at Gimpo Airport are located in the Domestic Terminal on the same floor as the arrivals area. Passengers arriving at the International Terminal can transfer to the Domestic Terminal using the Airport Shuttle Bus service located outside the exit gates unless other instructions have been given by the rental car company.

Buses – Several bus lines service Gimpo Airport and can transfer passengers to Seoul or other areas of South Korea. The bus stops are located right outside the exit gates of the arrival hall. The City buses take around 40-45 minutes to Seoul city center.

Tickets can be purchased either at the information desks in the terminals or directly from the driver and they cost from 7,000 Won for a single one-way ticket.

Taxis – The different types of taxi can be found outside the terminal exit gates and across the road. The orange standard taxi does not have to be pre-booked, but the International taxi offering their services in English, Japanese or Chinese is required to be booked at least 24 hours ahead of time. There is an information desk located in the public area of the arrivals floor in the International Terminal.

A taxi ride to central Seoul from Gimpo Airport takes around 30 minutes depending on traffic and the approximate fee is 15,000 Won depending on the destination in Seoul. Toll fees are expected to be covered by the passenger and additional costs may apply.

Trains – Three subway lines service Gimpo Airport and Seoul and one line services other places in the surrounding areas. One of the lines, Airport Railway, also service Incheon Airport for travelers transferring there.

The subway takes around 25 minutes to central Seoul and the fare is around 1,500 Won plus a deposit of 500 Won that is fully refunded through a refund deposit machine at the destination station.

The subway platform can be found underground by following the transportation signs down escalators.

WiFi at Gimpo International Airport

There is an internet zone located in the International Terminal, but they also offer free WiFi for up to 240 minutes of use.

Connect to SSID GMP free Wi-Fi and choose your operating system and then open your browser of choice. You will have to register through the registration form and submit it before you are able to use the free WiFi.

Smoking at Gimpo International Airport

There are smoking lounges located on the second and third floors on the air-side in the International Terminal. In the Domestic Terminal there is no smoking allowed indoors. You are advised to use only designated smoking areas outside.
